LEVELS IN $sup 200$Hg POPULATED FROM THE DECAY OF $sup 200$Au

Journal Article · · Nuclear Phys.

The decay of 48 minute Au/sup 200/ was investigated. Only three gamma rays (370, 1225, and 1600 kev) were found to follow the decay of this isotope. Excited states at 370 and 1595 kev in Hg/sup 200/ can accommodate these gamma rays. No gamma rays were found to correspond to the excitation or the deexcitation of a level at 950 kev, which was observed in both the neutron capture gamma ray work on Hg/sup 199/ and in the beta decay iuvestigations of Tl/ sup 200/. Evidence is presented for a new gold activity with a half life of 19 plus or minus 2 hours. (auth)
