Coupled high-frequency and low-frequency plasma oscillations

Journal Article · · Sov. Phys. - Tech. Phys. (Engl. Transl.), v. 20, no. 1, pp. 105-106

Coupling is studied between various high-frequency and low-frequency oscillations excited in a nonequilibrium, weakly-ionized plasma by a beam of primary electrons accelerated by the cathode drop. The experiments are carried out in a mercury-vapor discharge at 0.1-1 mtorr with various interelectrode gaps. It is shown that the nature of the coupling depends on the high-frequency oscillation.
