Excitation and spontaneous low-frequency oscillations in the pulsed plasma of a hollow cathode discharge at a neon pressure of 0.1-10 torr is studied. Conditions for the generation of these oscillations and their distribution over the cross section of the hollow cathode are considered. The conditions for generation of low-frequency oscillations were tracked according to the volt-ampere characteristics (VAC) of the discharge for different pressures and interelectrode distances. The steepness of the discharge VAC was positive for all investigated conditions.
