LUMINESCENCE SPECTROMETER FOR THE INVESTIGATIONS OF $gamma$ SPECTRA OF RADIOACTIVE NUCLEI (in Russian)

The design, specifications, and performance are given of a scintillation spectrometer for measuring the distribution of pulses according to their magnitudes (1, 2, 3, 7). The spectrometer is divided into two compartments: the first contains the crystal (Nal(-fl) and CsI(Tl), 29 mm in diameter and 12 mm in thickness), photomultiplier, and cathode repeater; the second contains the amplifier and a single-channel differential amplitude analyzer. The linear amplifier is designed on a two-cascade scheme with negative feedback, 1 Mc penetration band, and an amplification factor of 100. The output of the linear amplifier is 120 v. A high resolving power multiplier was selected by comparing photo-peaks of Hg/sup 203/, Zn/sup 65/ and Co/sup 60/. It is shown that NaI(TI) and CsI(TI) crystals offer a more efficient count of gamma quanta, (R.V.J.)
