THE ARTIFICIAL RADIOACTIVITY OF THE AIR IN AACHEN ON APRIL 1, 1958 (in German)

Journal Article · · Meteorol. Rundschau.
OSTI ID:4161106
On April 1, 1958, in Aachen, a sudden increase of the radioactivity of the air was observed. From measurements made on the decay of the aerosols, which followed the t/sup -1/ law, the origin of the activity was found to be March 6, 1958. An autoradiographic invvstigation of the filter parts showed that the activity was caused by a single strongly irradiating particle. The autoradiographs obtained from the particle are shown. (J.S.R.)
