PHOTOPRODUCTION OF $pi$ $sup +$ MESONS ON HYDROGEN NEAR THE THRESHOLD (in Russian)

The behavior of square elements in pi /sup +/ meson photoproduction near threshold was analyzed. The cross section of pi /sup +/ photoproduction on hydrogen near threshold was correlated with the cross section of pi /sup -/ photoproduction on neutrons. The data were compared with the meson theory prediction of the magnitude of sigma /sup -/ sigma /sup +/ near threshold. The derived magnitude sigma /sup -// sigma /sup +/ = 1.3 plus or minus 0.3 is in good agreement with theory. (R.V.J.)
