Reactions of Ti, Zr, Sn, and Th tetrachlorides with tributyl phosphates were studied by an infrared method. It is shown that TiCl/sub 4/ with TBP forms two compounds with 1:2 and 2: 2 ratio. The structure of the 2: 2 ratio compound was analyzed. Simultaneous participation of ester and phosphoryl TBP oxygens was postulated and formation of a donor-acceptor bond was analyzed.
