INFRARED SPECTRA OF THORIUM, ZIRCONIUM, AND URANYL COMPLEXES WITH 8-OXINE AND TRIBUTYLPHOSPHATE (in Russian)

S>Reactions of Zr, Th, and UO/sub 2/ with 8-oxines and ZrCl/sub 4/ and ThCl/sub 4/ with TBP were studied. Infrared absorption spectra of Th, Zr, and UO/ sub 2/ 8-oxinate exhibited the presence of a conjugation effect. The infrared spectra indicated that the extra 8-oxine molecule is added by the coordinate bond between the atom of the metal and nitrogen of the mixture. Infrared spectra for TBP mixtures with ThCl/sub 4/ and ZrCl/sub 4/ were measured and the mechanism of component reactions was analyzed. (R.V.J.)
