ION EXCHANGE SEPARATION OF URANIUM AND THORIUM IN NON-AQUEOUS AND MIXED MEDIA. Progress Report NO. 2, April-September 1963

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4153807

The anion exchange behavior of hexavalent uranium and a number of other elements in organic solvents containing organic acids is described. Based on the results of these investigations, several separation methods for uranium from other elements were developed. Studies as to the applicability of di- and tricarboxylic acids for the purpose of separating the elements uranium, thorium, and the rare earths on an andion exchange resin were also carried out. As a result, a method for the separation of uranium from thorium and the rare earths was found. (auth)
