THE ($beta$ + $gamma$)/$gamma$ PHASE BOUNDARIES AT 675, 700 AND 720C IN THE URANIUM-RICH CORNER OF THE U-Mo-Nb-DIAGRAM

Journal Article · · Journal of Nuclear Materials (Netherlands)
U- Mo-- Nb alloys were examined after water-quenching from 675, 700, and 720 deg C to determine the phases present. The shape of the ( BETA + gamma )/ gamma boundaries is in line with the finding that an increased gamma / BETA ratio can be obtained by stepannealing (675-700 deg C) alloys whose compositions lie on the line joining U-3.6 at.% Mo and U-6.9 at.% Nb, as the Nb content is progressively increased.
