The application of paper electrophoresis to separation of rare earths from the fission prcducts of U/sup 235/ is shown. The separation is satisfactory in a buffer solution of 0.2M citric acid in the pH range 2.2 to 3.0. The sequence is given for La. Ce, Pr, Nd. Pm, Sm. Y, Tb, and Ho; methods of identification are given. (tr-auth)
