Conductivity of {gamma}-irradiated LiF; Die Waermeleitfaehigkeit von γ-bestrahltem LiF (in German)

Conference ·
OSTI ID:4130510
The conductivity of pure monocrystalline LiF, γ-irradiated, was measured in the temperature range 0.3-100 deg K. The F centers produced by irradiation disperse phonons like point defects, the corresponding fluorine atoms on inter-lattice sites appear as clusters of about 10 A diameter, and high irradiation doses (above 10{sup 8}R) give rise to extensive perturbation zones. Each of these 3 defects influences heat conduction in a characteristic temperature range and may thus be analyzed during irradiation and consecutive recovery.
