Measurements of the efficiency of a gas-filled Cherenkov counter are given. The efficiency, taking into account the spectrum of cosmic muons of momentum greater than 1.75 Bev/c, as a function of the gas pressure, was found to be (97.10 plus or minus 0.50)% at 8.1 atm. The efficiency for particles having beta = 1 should be at 10 atm F(c) = (99.45 plus or minus 0.06)%.(auth)
