The performance of a C0/sub 2/ Chereakov counter was studied. The efficiency of the counter for mu mesons of cosmic rays with momentum greater than 1.75 Bev/c was measured as a function of gas pressure. Prelimi nary results give for the efficiency the value (96.7 plus or minus 1.1)% at the pressure of 10.23 atm. N-P-T. (auth)
