THE TUMORIGENIC ACTION OF BETA, PROTON, AND ELECTRON RADIATION ON THE RAT SKIN. Progress Report
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:4128336
Includes Appendices I through V. Preliminary results are reported for studies on hair follicle injury and tumor induction in rat skin following exposure to electrons, protons, or BETA particles at various penetrating depths. Data are included from a comparison of uniform and nonuniform surface distributions of high level BETA particles on the production of skin tumors and skin injury; skin tumor induction by proton irradiation; the relation of dose, penetration-depth, and hair cycle to injury and tumor induction resulting from electron irradiation; and the structure and growth patterns of rat skin tumors induced by BETA particles.
