Three tentative isotherms in the niobium-rich region of the niobium-- tungsten-- hafnium alloy system at 1600, 1300, and 1100 deg C are presented. Only two phase-fields are present in these partial isotherms. The single-phase field is the niobium terminal solid solution, and the two-phase field consists of the niobium solid solution and a second phase whose identity is not yet known. An x-ray study of selected alloys will be made to identify the second phase. Also included are the microhardness contour diagrams for these alloys. Homogenization treatment of 39 niobium-tungsten-- zirconium alloys is complete. (auth)
