Oxygenated and oxygen-free aqueous solutions of norleucine, leucine, and isoleucine were irradiated with gamma rays. The products of the radiation chemical reactions in both media were determined. On the basis of the results, the radiation chemical degradation pattern of these amino acids was elucidated and the effects of chain length and branching of the C chain discussed. (auth)
