K$pi$ INTERACTION IN THE DOUBLE DISPERSION REPRESENTATION

Journal Article · · Physical Review (U.S.) Superseded in part by Phys. Rev. A, Phys. Rev. B: Solid State, Phys. Rev. C, and Phys. Rev. D
The low-energy K- pi interaction was studied on the basis of the double dispersion representation. Exact dispersion relations for partial wave amplitudes were derived for K- pi scatterirg and for the process pi + pi -- K + K. These relations were reduced to manageable form and effectiverange fomulas were derived under the assumption that the K- pi interaction proceeds principally through a contact "potential." For the process pi + pi -- K + K, the initialstate interaction was taken into account. For the p wave of K- pi scattering, the two-pion exchange mechanism was considered. Other types of solutions are briefly discussed. (auth)
