CONCERNING THE DISTURBANCE OF THE EPITHERMAL FLUX BY MANY-LAYER PROBES IN FUEL ELEMENTS OF A HETEROGENEOUS REACTOR (in German)

Journal Article · · Atomkernenergie (West Germany) Merged with Kerntechnik to form Atomkernenerg./Kerntech. Acta Radiol. Changed to Acta Radiol.: Oncol., Radiat. Phys.
OSTI ID:4121708

The distortion of the epithermal neutron flux by probes of several layers in the fuel element of a heterogeneous reactor is determined by a diffusion theoretical approximation. From that a statement can be made on the best thickness of the fuel layer that should be inserted in the resonance area of the uranium between the cadmium shield and activation foil during activation measurements.
