CORRECTION FACTORS FOR THICK GOLD PROBES (in German)

Correction factors for gold probes, which include the effect of neutron absorption during activation by thermal and epithermal neutrons (self-shielding) and absorption scattering (self-absorption and self-scattering), were experimentally determined, since for various thick probes the specific activity must be determined as a function of thickness. The probes were activated in isotropic neutron fields with and without cadmium shields. The detection of the activity was done with window ( etection) and scintillation ( etection) counters. The results were compared with the values obtained for different counter geometries and with theoretical results and were discussed. (tr-auth)
