Curves for determining thickness-correction factors for treating counting data for sets of neutron-activated unmatched gold foils have been determined experimentally by using the first derivative of the curve of activation versus thickness. This was done for both epithermal and thermal activation of gold foils irradiated in a near-isotropic flux in a void in a graphite thermal column.
