The influence of epinephrine on pulse frequency and quality of the left ventricle heart beats in rabbits was studied. The effect of this drug in the controls and in rabbits irradiated by 1000 r was compared on the 3rd and 6th day after irradiation, and in the same manner its effect on the coronary flow was estimated. The results did not show any fundamental changes in the effect of epinephrine on rabbit heart during the first 6 days after irradiation. Only the contraction of the left ventricle was less influenced by epinephrine in the irradiated animals than in the controls, but the difference was statisticslly insignificant. (BBB)
