LONGITUDINAL POLARIZATION OF $beta$ ELECTRONS (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Zhur. Eksptl'. i Teoret. Fiz.
Ths longitudinal polarization of beta particles from p/sup 32/ In/sup 114/, Sm/sup 153/, Lu/sup 177/, Ho/sup 166/, and Au/sup 198/ nuclei was measured at an energy of 300 to 340 Mev by Mott scattering (transformation of the longitudinal polarization into transverse). Differences up to 10% were detected in the degree of polarization of the investigated isotopes. It was also found that ths absolute values of the polarizations lie in the range -(0.86 to 0.97) v/ c. The error of the absolute measurements does not include possible inaccuracies of the theoretical computation relating tne polarization to the scattering asymmetry. (auth)
