The Ulchin 3 and 4 nuclear power plants (NPPs) are 950-MW pressurized water reactors under construction in Ulchin, Kyonbuk, South Korea, with expected commercial operation in June 1998 and 1999, respectively. The reactor supplier is Korea Heavy Industry Company (KHIC) (Combustion Engineering); the generator supplier is KHIC (General Electric); the architect engineer is KOPEC (Sargent and Lundy); and the constructor is Dong Ah (KHIC). Radiation dose rates were calculated for the NPPs at the operating platform, reactor coolant pipe openings in the primary shield, and the in-core instrumentation (ICI) chase/seal table. The geometry modeling, DOT /MCNP coupling, and the albedo/streaming models used in this analysis are summarized here.
