DC BRIDGE FOR NPR HORIZONTAL ROD COUNTING

The horizontal rod counting circuitry of the NPR ball safety system backup for horizontal rods uses a d-c bridge network. The principles of a counting bridge are presented, together with the general bridge equations and the design criteria used. Bridge component selection, optimization, and tolerances are then summarized; and the physical and operating characteristics of the two types of bridge counting circuits used are discussed. (D.C.W.)
