IMPROVEMENTS IN TUBES FOR NUCLEAR REACTORS

A method of mounting a tube in a central portion of a reactor core is described. The tube has a better transparency to neutrons than steel and has a sleeve portion capable of being welded to a core part. The sleeve portion is joined to the central portion in a fluid-tight manner achieved by a mechanical tightening effect before mounting the tube in the core and by then welding or fusing the sleeve portion to the core part.
