CHANGES IN THE EFFECT OF THIOPENTAL AND THEIR INFLUENCING IN IRRADIATED ANIMALS

Journal Article · · Sb. Ved. Praci Lekar. Fak. Karlovy Univ. Hradci Kralove

It was found that irradiation of rabbits with 1000 r significantly prolongs the effect of thiopental on the 3rd and 6th days after irradiation. The prolongation is conditioned, in the first place, by irradiation of the head, which is especially marked on the third day following irradiation. The prolongation of ECG changes corresponding to thiopental narcosis after irradiation with 1000 r can be significantly reduced on the third day after irradiation by intravenous administration of 40 mg/kg 2% sodium succinate.
