PRECIPITATION OF ZIRCONIUM DISELENITE (in Russian)

An analysis was made of the composition of ZrOCl/sub 2/ solutions with H/ sub 2/SeO/sub 3/ or Na/sub 2/SeO/sub 3/ precipitated from 0.6N HCl solution. Solutions saturated with H/sub 2/SeO/sub 3/ approximates 0.25 mole/l formed a precipitate with zirconium diselenite while solutions with lesser amount of H/sub 2/SeO/sub 3/ contained zirconyl selenite. Thermal decomposition of zirconium diselenite (into ZrO/sub 2/ and SeO/sub 2/) takes place at 625 deg . (R.V.J.)
