The class of diagrams for which Amati, Fubini, and Stanghellini propose the existence of cuts in the angularmomentum plane, is studied with the aid of the solution of the Bethe-Salpeter equation in the ladder approximation. Although it is found that these cuts do not exist, the same method shows that cuts are present in a set of diagrams suggested by Mandelstam. (auth)
