The cuts in the angular-momentum plane proposed by Amati, Fubini, and Stanghellini are examined further and, in diagrams more complicated than their original diagram, they are found to be present. Such cuts are closely related to the essential singularities found by Gribov and Pomeranchuk. In a channel where the two-particle states do not consist of elementary particles, the essential singularities will occur on one side of the cut in the angular-momentum plane only. As a result the Gribov-Pomeranchuk singularities in such channels do not contribute to the asymptotic behavior in the physical region. (auth)
