CHANGES IN VASCULAR REGENERATION IN THE WOUNDS OF IRRADIATED ANIMALS (in Czech)

As is well known the reparative processes in skin wounds are markedly altered after irradiation; attempts were made to evaluate these changes. In a study of the reparative processes in skin wounds in rats, the observation was made that regeneration of blood vessels in the wounds of nonirradiated animals proceeds in three qualitively different and welldistinguishable stages which can be used for statistical evaluation. In rats which were whole-body irradiated with 600 r before the injury the regenerative vascular processes show these three stages which, however, are significantly prolonged as compared with the controls and show certain morphologic differences as well.
