Data are summarized from investigations of biological differences in three variants of Mengo encephalomyelitis virus grown on L cells in tissue culture. Differences in rate of attachment to L cells, rate of diffusion through agar, response to pH, and lethal effects in mice are reported for the three variants. Procedures used for electron microscopic examination of the viruses are described. (C.H.)
