INVESTIGATION OF ELEMENTARY PARTICLES WITH THE HELP OF NUCLEAR EMULSIONS (in Dutch)

Journal Article · · Ned. Tijdschr. Natuurk.
OSTI ID:4099718

The utilization of nuclear emulsions in the study of elementary particles is illustrated with some examples. The instrumentation used for the initial scanning and final measurement of the tracks in the emulsion stacks is described. The disintegrations found from irradiation of the emulsions with I/ sup 131/ labe /sup -/ at 5.5 Bev are discussed. The decay of K/sup +/ in nuclear emulsions is then illustrated. The differential cross section for K/sup +/ scattering in nuclear emulsions is given. An apparatus for the measurement of small-angle scattering in emulsions is then described. (J.S.R.)
