MEASUREMENTS OF NEUTRON FLUX BY SHIELDED 'LONG COUNTER'

Journal Article · · Sci. Papers Inst. Phys. Chem. Research (Tokyo)
OSTI ID:4099548
The counting efficiency and directionality of a shielded "long counter" for neutrons from Ra- Be source were investigated. The efficiencies of the counter with and without deep holes, eight in number, made from the front into the surrounding paraffin body around the BF/sub 3/ counter, were found to be 1.9 and 1.7%, respectively. The effect of neutrons scattered by the floor was also investigated. (auth)
