Maximum permissible doses of external radiation applicable to the operations of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority are specified. Maximum permissible doses are specified for radiation workers, nonradiation workers, and of the general public. It is postulated that all exposures to radiation must be kept as low as practicable and any unnecessary exposure must be avoided. All doses must be kept below the maximum permissible values defined in this Code. (C.H.)
