ANGULAR AND MOMENTUM DISTRIBUTION OF RESIDUAL NUCLEI PRODUCED IN THE INELASTIC SCATTERING OF FAST $pi$-MESONS AND PROTONS ON HELIUM (in Russian)

The angular and momentum distributions of residual nuclei produced as a result of quasi-free interaction of fast pi mesons or protons with the nucleons of helium nuclei were investigated. It was found that the shape of the distributions can be explained within the framework of the Serber-Goldberger model if transfer of the additional momentum due to coupling is taken into acccunt. The pcssibility of obtaining information on the momentum distribution of nucleons in the helium nucleus from the momentum spectrum of the residual nuclei is discussed. The momentum distribution of the nucleons can be satisfactorily described by a Gaussian functicn which decreases to the 1/e value at an energy E/sub O/ = (12 plus or minus 2) Mev. (auth)
