COLD-CRUCIBLE INDUCTION MELTING OF REACTIVE METALS

Journal Article · · J. Metals
OSTI ID:4086295
The possibility of induction melting reactive metals such as titanium was demonstrated to be technically feasible. A cold-crucible induction furnace was developed and demonstrated on a laboratory scale with titanium charges; no wetting or short-circuiting between crucible segments was observed. (D.L.C.)
