THE CORROSION OF 79-4 (HyMu80) AND INOR-8 RODS IN ORNL SINGLE VESSEL STUDIES

S>Rods of HyMu 80 and INOR-8 were exposed during dissolution- fluorination cycles with HF and F/sub 2/ in the molten salt NaF --LiF--ZrF/sub 4/ at 500 deg C. Micrometric and metallographic measurements of the corrosion rates were made. The results show that HyMu 80 is more durable than INOR-8 and that corrosion of HyMu 80 is localized. (D.L.C.)
