The separation of Th X(Ra/sup 224/) from RdTh(Th/sup 228/) by Th/sup 225/ retention on an anion exchange resin with Ra/sup 224/ remaining in the filtrate was described. The optimum conditions permitting a 100% retention of Th on a strong basic resin with negligible retention of Ra were achieved with a solution of 0.5 to 1.0N-nitric acid containlng 80% methyl alcohol by volume.
