NEUTRON CROSS SECTION OF CHROMIUM FROM 500 TO 1200 kev (in French)

Journal Article · · Compt. Rend.
OSTI ID:4078451

Use of the 2-Mev Van de Graaff beam permitted a measurement of the total cross section of Cr for neutrons from 500 to 1200 kev. The curve has numerous levels of which three are particularly well separated near 755-, 873-, and 902- kev. The Breit-Wigner formula, applied to experimental results, gives J = 3/2 for the first and third levels (by taking into account the fact that the sample contains only 84% Cr/sup 52/) and J = 1/2 for the second.
