Progress is reported in an investigation of the physiological and pbarmacological effects of chemicals whose ability to protect mice against radiation injury has been demonstrated. Pharmacological studies were carried out wiih 3.aminopropylisothiurea dihydrobromide (APT). 3,aminopropyl-N' -methyl isothiurea dihydrobromide (APMT), and mercaptoethylamine (MEA). AET was studied in detail, and preliminary results are presented. (C.H.)
