THE EFFECT OF ULTRAVIOLET IRRADIATION ON CHLORPROMAZINE. I. AEROBIC CONDITION

Journal Article · · J. Chromatog.

A photo-oxidation study was made on chlorpromazine. An aqueous solution of chlorpromazine . HCl was placed in a porcelain evaporating dish and irradiated with uv light for a period of 24, 48, and 72 hr. After the irradiation, changes in the color as well as pH (from 5.9 to 1.72) of the solution were noted. The physical properties of 12 compounds isolated from the mixture of uv irradiated solution of chlorpromazine . HCl are given. (P.C.H.)
