INVESTIGATION OF ION DRIFT IN WILSON CHAMBER BY MEANS OF A SPARK CHAMBER (in Russian)

An argon-filled spark chamber is used to investigate ion drift in a Wilson chamber. It is shown that in the limit of precision the formula, Z/sub (measured)/ = Z/sub (actual)/ x 1/(1+ alpha ) ( alpha = expansion ratio), enables one to accurately determine the correction for the depth coordinate (Z) of tracks in terms of ion drift.
