The construction, operating principles, and several characteristics of a spark chamber with eight discharge interspaces and a volume of 70 x 50 x 50 cm/ sup 3/ are described. The characteristics of the neon-filled chamber are investigated at 1.5 atm. Results show that the spark chamber has 100% efficiency for detecting charged particles-in a wide range of impulse voltage.
