RECRYSTALLIZATION AND SOFTENING OF MAGNESIUM ALLOYS (in Russian)

High purity Mg was alloyed by, additions of up to 1 at.% of Mn, Al, Nd, Ca, Th, Ce, Zr, Ni and Ba. The alloys were cast, hot rolled, annealed at 50 to 450 deg C, and reduced 60% by cold rolling. A study was made of the effect of alloying agents and their concentration (from 0.1 to 1 at.%) on recrystallization temperature, recrystallization rate, heat resistance, creep, and hardness.
