THE MEASUREMENT BY ACTIVATION OF CROSS SECTIONS FOR 14.7 Mev NEUTRONS

Measurements of some cross sections for reactions induced by fast neutrons are described. The technique employed was that of detecting the induced beta activity in the target material. Special care was taken to reduce experimental errors. Results are given for (n, alpha ) reactions with /sup 27/ Al, (n,p) reactions with /sup 27/Al, /sup 66/Fe, and /sup 65/ Cu, and (n,2n) reactions with /sup 66/Cu, /sup 110/Pd, /sup 128/Te, /sup 130/Te, and /sup 165/Ho. 20 references.
