TRANSITIONS BETWEEN LOW-LYING EXCITED STATES OF Mn$sup 56$ AND Ho$sup 16$$sup 6$

Journal Article · · Nuclear Phys.
The measurement of coincidences of cascade quanta is used as a technique for investigating the low-lying levels of odd nuclei of Mn/sup 56/ and Ho/sup 166/ arising in the radiative cap ture of thermal neutrons. Reduced probabilities of M1 and E2 mixed radiative transitions with energies of 25 and 85 kev are found for Mn/sup 56/. The rotational band 0/sup -/, 2/sup -/ (54.2 kev), and 4/sup -/ (174 kev) is detected in the strongly deformed nucleus Ho/sup 166/. (auth)
