INHIBITION OF THYROIDAL I$sup 131$ UPTAKE BY PARABROMDYLAMINE MALEATE

Journal Article · · J.J. Clin. Endrocrinol. and Metabolism
Results of studies in 22 untreated hyperthyroid and euthyroid patients led to the conclusion that the antihistamine, parabromdylamine maleats, will inhibit the thyroidal uptake of I/sup 1//sup 3//sup 1/ in some patients. It is suggested that this medication should be discontinued at least one week prior to the performance of an I/sup 1//sup 3//sup 1/ uptake test. (C.H.)
