TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCE OF Gd-Y PARAMAGNETIC SUSCEPTIBILITY (in Russian)

ABS>Paramagnetic susceptibility of Gd--Y alloys (25, 50, 65, 75, and 90 at.% Gd) at 300 to 1500 deg K was studied using a Faraday-Lucksmith type installation with 10/sup -3/ to 10/sup -4/ mm Hg vacuum. Diagrams show that the specific susceptibility fulfills the Curie-Weiss law and is a direct function of temperature. An analysis of the effective magnetic moment per atom of Gd shows that with a increased Y the effective atomic moment is reduced. (R.V.J.)
