Effect on radio circuits of the high-altitude nuclear detonation on 9 July 1962

Journal Article · · New Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics
The observations made on commercial and other radio circuits in New Zealand and the Pacific area after the high-altitude nuclear explosion over Johnston Island are reported. Reports show that all circuits specifically observed were affected. The effects were widespread and began, as far as could be ascertained, at the moment of detonation.
